The photographs presented here were taken in Uzbekistan ( Tashkent, Samarkand ) over the course of a couple of days in March 2023. Hotel Uzbekistan is located in the very center of the exclusive district of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. In Soviet times the hotel was a symbol of the unifying power of Communism. This building became a pretext for me to tell a short metaphorical story about the fact that there is no such force that would be able to defeat the human spirit. However, this story can be, which I consider an advantage, interpreted in several ways.
